10 Aug 2011 - New Chief Financial Officer appointed at Ephindo Energy

stuart-smithEphindo Energy is pleased to announce that Mr Stuart Smith has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer.

Mr Smith is 44 years of age and has over 20 years experience in energy finance, having previously held roles with: independent upstream oil and gas companies, international Investment Banks and major Chartered Accounting firms.

Mr Sammy Hamzah, President and CEO of Ephindo Energy said “We are delighted to have secured a person of Stuart’s experience to lead our finance function. I am sure he will prove a great asset to the company, particularly as Ephindo prepares for its planned Initial Public Offering in 2012”.

About Stuart Smith

Mr Smith has over 20 years experience in the energy industry, including 16 years in Investment Banking specialising in the energy sector. Most recently he was an Executive Director of the privately-held Triton group of companies since 2008, with primary responsibility for the group’s commercial and finance functions.

Prior to joining Triton, Stuart was Head of Asia-Pacific Oil & Gas Research for Merrill Lynch, based in Singapore, and responsible for researching companies throughout Asia and Australia. During his 16 years in Investment Banking, he gained substantial experience in areas such as Equity Research, IPO's, secondary capital raisings, and M&A.

Stuart is a qualified Chartered Accountant (Australia), with several years experience with a "Big Four" accounting firm. He was also a Non-executive Director of Warsaw listed E&P company, Kulczyk Oil Ventures Inc, where he served on the Audit and Reserves Committees.
