Sekayu CBM Block
Located in the South Sumatera basin, this block extends over 583 square kilometers and was awarded as the first CBM PSC for Indonesia, in May 2008 by BPMigas, the Government’s upstream regulator.
Ephindo is in partnership with PT Medco Energi and Canadian CBM developer, McLaren Resources. The exploration programme comprised drilling of four wells, to varying depths of 760 to 1,020 meters with coal thickness measured reached up to 45 meters.
Laboratory tests indicate higher rank coal, high gas saturation and gas content estimated at over 100 cubic feet per ton.
