Our Environmental Management Programme follows the essence of sustainability:  to satisfy present energy needs of society today, without compromising the needs of future generations.

To achieve this goal, Ephindo incorporates environmental considerations into all of our business activities and adopts sound practices and standards. We take into consideration the needs of the communities in which we work. As with any natural resource industry, our impact on air, land and water can be managed effectively.

CBM operations are by their nature less impactful on the environment than a number of other mining operations, by leaving coal seams in situ and undisturbed. We regularly monitor and measure our impact with a view to minimizing disruption to the landscape, natural vegetation and fauna.
