At Ephindo we hold the belief that the safety of everyone associated with our operations is of paramount importance.
To honour this commitment, Ephindo maintains an ongoing health and safety management system, measures, tests and reviews safety procedures regularly at management level and as a key reporting element in monthly performance reviews conducted by the executive team and the Board of Directors.
All employees within Ephindo, from executives to front line workers, everyone is responsible not only for their own safety but to look out for the safety of others. Safety is not specific to any single department but is integrated into every aspect of our business – a system that proactively protects people.
We continually evaluate the effectiveness of our Health and Safety Management program seeking improvement in implementation as well as health and safety performance. One example of this is near miss and hazard identification, a combination of upgrading routines based on experience and to encourage a culture of anticipation and awareness of the need for safety first, every time.
Ephindo’s management supports the development of safety standards aimed to surpass regulatory requirements. To do so, adequate resources are made available for continuous safety improvements. Regular front-line safety tours by senior management are conducted over rigs, gas plants and operating facilities.
Some of the key initiatives behind the continuous improvement programme:
- Reviews of all aspects of our HSE Management System
- Increased safety communication engaging all levels of management and workforce
- Safety leadership training for Ephindo supervisors and managers
- Management of long-term relationships with key vendors – to ensure safety becomes an integral performance objective.
