Social Responsibility Policy

We approach Corporate Social Responsibility as a long-term commitment and a key part of our investment in creating value for all stakeholders.

Our focus is on establishing and sustaining lasting relationships with local communities built on respect and trust as we share goals together. Our intent is to contribute positively to the quality of life for those around us, including local communities, employees and their families. Our relations with customers and suppliers are equally vital, such engagements undertaken to create value, maintain goodwill and sound ethical business practices for mutual benefit.

We require that every Ephindo invested operation take full account and due care of the following CSR policy principles:

Employment
The promotion of equal opportunities in recruitment, employment and career development – irrespective of gender, religious faith or ethnic background.

We are committed to ensure our terms of employment are aligned with or better than minimum wage guidelines, meet local industry best practice, respect workers’ rights and we aim to provide best possible working and development conditions.

Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
We seek at all times to maintain a strict Occupational Health and Safety Policy encompassing a goal of Zero harm at all operational sites for our employees, contractors and visitors.

Business conduct
We support the UN Global Compact and Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Community Involvement
Based on our analysis of local needs we will seek to promote and establish common interests with local communities by positive engagement for mutual benefit. We encourage all employees to play an active role in furthering social and community causes as part of their individual performance goals.

Customer and Supplier Relations
We offer and we expect to receive products and services of an acceptable standard that answer a clearly defined need and align with our policy on business conduct.

Progress monitoring and performance reporting
We measure and evaluate all CSR programme activities and report on performance and progress, transparently and promptly. Our intent, wherever possible, is to pursue independent assessments. We welcome suggestions and proactive feed back
